Alyssa thought she wanted to teach elementary aged children, but one job working with two to three and a half year olds changed her mind. She fell in love with the job and is still working in that classroom today! Alyssa holds a strong belief that “Learning through free exploration” is the core of all teaching as well as helping to teach children beyond academics – things like emotions, how to treat others, life roles, and development of motor skills. Alyssa is a teaching assistant in Hillary’s preschool classroom and is described by Hillary as having a “bright, energetic presence that encourages sincere and powerful attachments with the children in her care. Her warm, sensitive affect encourages children to come to her with both their troubles and their joys.” Congratulations, Alyssa!
